Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about building, publishing, and iterating on playables with PlayablesAI.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. You describe what you want in plain language and the AI builds it.

Everything it creates remains editable in the visual editor, so you can adjust things like positioning, buttons and colours yourself without having to touch the code.

How long does it take to make one?

A simple playable can come together in less than an hour. Much of the time goes into refining the experience and polishing the visuals rather than building everything from scratch.

Creating variations of an existing playable can be even faster, especially when you’re reusing mechanics, layouts and assets.

Can I make changes after the AI builds something?

Yes. You can ask the AI to make further changes, or open the visual editor and adjust things directly yourself.

You can move freely between the two, so making a manual change doesn’t stop you from continuing to work with the AI.

What if I don’t have the artwork yet?

The AI can generate backgrounds, characters, icons and other assets, so you can start building without having all your artwork ready.

You can replace them with your own assets later, or simply use the AI-generated assets in the finished ad.

Can I use my own fonts and brand assets?

Yes. You can add your own logos, images, videos, fonts and other assets to the project folder on your computer and use them in your playable.

There’s also a large built-in font library if you don’t have a specific brand typeface to work with.

Can I add 3D models?

Yes. Playables.ai supports .glb files, so you can bring 3D models directly into your playable. Textures and animations included in the model come along too.

How can I use one game mechanic to make further variations?

You can create multiple ads — or machine files — within the same project folder, while reusing the same layouts and assets.

This makes it easy to take an existing mechanic and create new variations without starting from scratch. You can also ask the AI to document how a mechanic works, making it easier to reuse the same approach for future concepts.

How can I do version control?

Your project is just a folder of files on your own computer, so you can use tools you already know, such as Git, Dropbox, Google Drive or Time Machine.

Git is a particularly good fit because the design files are plain text, making it easy to see what changed and roll back previous versions. If you’re using a synced folder, avoid having multiple people edit the same files at the same time.

Where can I publish my playable?

The AI can export your playable for major ad networks and platforms, including Google Ads, Meta and Mintegral, as well as standard MRAID for other networks.

You can also publish your playable as a web link for easy sharing and testing. One project can contain several versions, so different networks, formats and variations can live side by side.

How small does my playable need to be?

File size limits vary between ad networks and can be quite strict.

You don’t need to manually compress your images before publishing. During the publishing process, Playables.ai automatically generates an optimized, compressed bundle from your raw assets.

This means you can work with your original assets while building and let the publishing process handle the necessary optimization for the final bundle.

How do I test it on a real phone?

Publish your playable as a web link and open the link on your phone to test the experience on a real device.

It’s a good idea to test on different types of devices and with sound both on and off. Most ad networks also provide their own preview tools, which you can use for a final check before going live.
